CR Urges Registrars on Excellence
The Chief Registrar, HW Paul Gadenya addressing the Registrars meeting
Kampala. The Chief Registrar, HW Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa urged Registrars to continue doing whatever work they are doing until there is change of guard. He made these remarks during meeting for registrars who have been transferred to different stations held in his chambers at the High Court in Kampala on February 19, 2018.
He said, "...we need to continue working normally and excelling with the hope that things will get better." He tasked the Registrar of Planning and Development to avail the Chief Justice's New Law Year speech to all judicial officers as well as extracting action points from the speech.
He told the registrars that it was important to review performance of each officer every quarter.
To improve on productivity, the Chief Registrar tasked each registrar to have work plans to help in the execution of tasks. The meeting discussed management of transition and handover of office.
HW Gadenya advised that officers on transfer need to do a formal handover in compliance with Public Service standing orders. The Registrars presented reports from their different stations highlighting best practices and areas that needed guidance.
This is the first meeting that Registrars have held since the year began.
